Detailed Case Breakdown
Kinah K. Anderson Missing Since 2006 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin: What Happened and Where the Case Stands
Kinah K. Anderson disappeared from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on July 10, 2006. Nearly two decades later, his case remains listed by both the Wisconsin Department of Justice and Milwaukee Police Department as a long-term missing-person case.
Anderson was 27 years old when he disappeared, based on his reported October 4, 1978 date of birth. Some official and historical records list his age as 28. He was approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighed about 125 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Kinah Anderson’s Disappearance
According to a Milwaukee Police Department cold-case record, Anderson was last seen at approximately 10:45 p.m. on July 10, 2006, in the area of North 32nd Street and West Auer Avenue in Milwaukee. He was reportedly with two Black males at the time.
Anderson had reportedly planned to travel to Carthage, Mississippi, to visit his mother, but he never arrived. He subsequently disappeared without a confirmed trace.
There is a discrepancy among secondary sources regarding the destination: at least one Wisconsin missing-person advocacy page identifies Carthage, Missouri. Milwaukee’s historical cold-case record, however, identifies the destination as Carthage, Mississippi.
What Kinah Anderson Was Wearing
When Anderson was last seen, he was reportedly wearing a white T-shirt, black Dickie shorts, a dark gray hooded sweatshirt and white tennis shoes.
He had several highly distinctive physical characteristics that could potentially assist with identification. Anderson had a glass right eye, a scar near his left eyebrow, areas of discoloration on both arms, pierced ears and a roughly five-inch diagonal scar in the center of his back. His upper front teeth were also missing.
Family Suspects Foul Play
Anderson’s disappearance has long carried suspicions of foul play.
Milwaukee Police Department’s historical cold-case page states that Anderson may have been the victim of a homicide. His brother, Dannyelle Harris, later publicly said that he believed Anderson had witnessed a murder and was killed after telling people what he had seen.
That allegation represents the family’s theory about Anderson’s disappearance; publicly available records reviewed for this article do not establish it as a proven explanation for what happened.
The Charley Project similarly classifies Anderson as endangered missing and reports that his brother believes he met with foul play.
Human Remains Found in a Milwaukee Sewer Raised Questions in 2012
Anderson’s disappearance received renewed attention in 2012 when human remains were discovered in a Milwaukee sewer.
FOX6 Milwaukee interviewed Anderson’s brother, Dannyelle Harris, at the scene. Harris said he had been told that his missing brother had been placed in a sewer, which prompted him to immediately go to the location after learning that remains had been discovered.
Harris told the station that, based on what he observed, he did not think the remains were his brother. Police were investigating the remains as a homicide and examining missing-person reports at the time.
The publicly available sources reviewed for this article do not establish that those remains were Kinah Anderson, and Anderson continues to appear on current official missing-person lists.
Earlier Milwaukee Homicide Case Provides Additional Background
Anderson’s name also appears in Wisconsin appellate court records concerning the 1996 killing of Omar Hooper, a case that occurred approximately ten years before Anderson disappeared.
According to the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, Hooper was fatally shot on April 21, 1996, at 3200 North 34th Street in Milwaukee. During the prosecution of George Edward Reed, co-defendant Maurice Johnson testified that he, Reed and Anderson were present during the confrontation. Johnson testified that he shot Hooper in the leg and that Anderson also shot Hooper.
Later litigation contained additional and sometimes conflicting witness accounts concerning the 1996 homicide.
These court records provide documented background involving Anderson but should not be treated as proof of why he disappeared in 2006. Publicly available law-enforcement information reviewed for this article does not establish a confirmed connection between the Hooper homicide and Anderson’s later disappearance.
Latest Status of the Kinah Anderson Investigation
As of September 2026, there is no publicly announced resolution to Kinah Anderson’s disappearance in the sources reviewed for this article.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice Clearinghouse for Missing & Exploited Children & Adults continues to list Anderson as an endangered missing person, with a missing date of July 10, 2006.
The Milwaukee Police Department also continues to include Kinah Anderson on its current list of long-term missing persons and requests information from the public.
His NamUs identification number is MP7951.
No publicly available source located during the latest review announced an arrest, identified remains as Anderson, or reported that investigators had conclusively determined what happened to him.
The case therefore remains one in which investigators and Anderson’s family still need information from people who may know what occurred after he was last seen on Milwaukee’s north side in July 2006.
