Roseanna Marie Forcum was only 15 years old when she disappeared in Minnesota during August 1998. More than two decades later, what happened to Roseanna and her friend, 21-year-old April Nicole Geyer, remains unknown.

Despite those discrepancies, the central facts remain consistent: Roseanna was last known to be with April Geyer, and the two disappeared during the same period after reportedly spending time in the St. Paul area.

The Night Roseanna and April Vanished

Accounts of the case indicate that Roseanna and April had only recently become acquainted, although they moved within the same broader social circle. Investigators believe they attended a gathering at an apartment in St. Paul in mid-August 1998. They may have attempted to hitchhike home afterward, but that detail has never been conclusively established.

The informant claimed that a male acquaintance strangled Roseanna and April at an apartment in St. Paul. He further alleged that he helped the supposed killer dispose of their bodies by burying them on or near farmland in Wadena County, close to the Leaf River.

Authorities searched the area described by the informant but did not find Roseanna, April or physical evidence establishing that the alleged burial occurred there. Investigators have never publicly confirmed the informant’s story, and its accuracy remains uncertain.

No suspect has been publicly charged, and the allegations should not be treated as a legally established account of the women’s fate.
