Tracey said Kerry left their Burlington residence at approximately 4:00 to 4:30 a.m. on December 6. The reported plan involved traveling to Chicago and flying from O’Hare International Airport.

A neighbor reportedly recalled seeing an unidentified black vehicle outside the Krueger residence around the time Kerry was said to have left.

But later that morning, one of Kerry’s coworkers contacted the home because Kerry had failed to arrive at work.

The explanation about the business trip then encountered a major problem: Kerry’s supervisor told authorities that no trade show was scheduled and that neither Kerry nor another employee had been assigned to attend such an event.

That discrepancy has remained one of the central mysteries of the case.

One important lead concerns the former Krueger residence. According to the 2026 program, a man who had worked for a flooring company recalled doing work in the basement around the period of Kerry’s disappearance. He remembered seeing what appeared to him to be a relatively fresh rectangular concrete patch in the basement floor.

The contractor reportedly brought his recollection to Burlington police years ago. Records associated with the flooring job apparently placed the work before Kerry disappeared, complicating the significance of the observation. Among the items discussed were clothing discovered months after Kerry vanished and material reportedly recovered from a vehicle during the original investigation.
