Mom, who lived in Arkansas, says Penny told her that she and her husband of 16 years, Glenn “Bud” Peeler, Jr, were having marital problems. From here things become a bit muddled. There are several different media accounts of what happened.

Between April 27th, 1990 and May 11th, 1990, Bud was on a trip. In some reports it states that Penny told her mom the trip was canceled. In some reports it states he was with another woman on this trip. In yet others, it states that Penny was with him. Bud claimed that he saw Penny last on May 3rd, 1990, at a bus station in Sacramento, California OR at a truck stop in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In fact, it’s reported that Bud changed his story more than a few times. One is that he told Penny’s mother that Penny went to visit friends in California and Arkansas. He also told her that Penny left during a trip the two went on to Albuquerque but this is the trip Penny told her mom was cancelled. The OSBI did conduct searches of the Carrier/Enid area at the time but nothing was found.

Penny’s mother believes her daughter met with foul play. Police have a suspect but it’s difficult to prove murder without a body. A disappearance like this is out of character for Penny.

Penny was a white woman standing at 5’6-5’7 and 150 lbs. She had blonde hair and blue/hazel eyes. She wore contact lenses at the time. She was last seen wearing a red flowered blouse, jean cut-off shorts and brown sandals. Penny is listed in NamUs as # MP43329 and there are two exclusions for her DNA/dentals.
